Best 85/15 HighWay / OffRoad 17 " Tires ?

Greetings All -

This topic has probably been posted previously - so forgive me - but I'm looking for input on the best tires (for highway noise/off road traction) for my 2002 E350 V10 - when I would be driving highway miles 85 % of the time and 15 %
of the time off road to get where I'm going to camp.

Georgia's a long way from the "promised land" of Utah - Colorado - New Mexico, etc. I need that quieter ride until I get there - and that traction tire for forest roads, sandy roads, snowy spots, etc. Appreciate any feedback and your time - Thanks !

You may want to move inquiry to another subforum - or ask a moderator to move it:

Russ,
Personally I'd suggest looking at either the Toyo A/T III, or the Toyo Open Country R/T Trail...the R/T Trail has a 35x12.5x17 with a load rating that would accommodate your rig. Scroll through this link to see the comparison to other Toyo selections;

Have you also decided to go with new rims?

Thanks for sharing Mikerson. If the OP of the link you posted was an Author, I'd enjoy reading anything he's published!

Skip the R/T Trail. I bought them this past year and they are amazing but quiet they are not. I had some A/T II's on a couple of rigs years ago and they were nice and quiet, I don't know about the III's but I would assume they would be.

I've been running the Toyo ATII's the last 30k. They have definitely gotten noiser as they wore but my biggest gripe is how much off-roading chunked the tires.

I'm an 85/15 guy as well and was looking to the ATIIIs which reportedly are quieter or the R/Ts but taking a hard look at the new Falcon Wildpeak R/T.
