Re: Factory Seat and swivel base

We found the same thing ….. We used Ford vans for our fleet at a large company I worked for. The accountants convinced upper management to get another brand at one of the rotations and the other brand was way less reliable, more expensive to repair and had lower resale value. Next round they went right back to Fords.

Re: Factory Seat and swivel base

carrinb, so your saying there is a chance...

I know how good Ford trucks and vans are but I didnt know about the fire fighter thing.

So how does Ford think its going to replace the Econoline again?

I am sure later this year and early next all of the left over vans and late model used vans will be snatched up when they see the Ford version of a Sprinter van on the lots. They might be really good but they will not be like these ones are . I wish I could swing ordering a brand new one to my specs right now then I would have two. I love some European cars but there is nothing like an full sized American truck or van for work (towing and camping).

Re: Factory Seat and swivel base

So what you're saying is that Ford screwed up. Again.

I will check the guys in Gardena for a seat.

The UJOR kit is awesome. I have a semi float D60 now. My plan is to get the sterling installed and use the D60 in my Jeep, when time and money permit.

I think you have to go to the 12volt battery for the older gun, which will give it a longer battery life and a few more RPMs. PM me for the price.

When you lift your van make sure to use the crossover steering kit. It corrects all the steering geometry.

Thanks for the advice everyone.

Re: Factory Seat and swivel base

Next week I'm having Cyclevan in NJ install a third captain's seat in my van on a removable swivel pedestal. They had a really hard time finding the removable pedestal, apparently.

I'll report back with pics next week when it's done. I had to remove the SMB sink cabinet to make room for the seat, but I'm hoping to be able to get a smaller cabinet back in behind the seat once that's installed (I'm thinking a cabinet as wide as just the sink itself might fit). It's a bummer to lose the counter space, though. Thankfully our van doesn't have a stove/propane system, so it made it possible to do this modification.
