SOLD:2wd Big brake upgrade (Econoline)

I picked up an awesome take off from a 450 from Quadvan in Portland looking to do the upgrade on my 2000 E-250 to the big brakes that come on the newer E/F series.

What I have are the E-450 set up that is pretty much a direct plug and play on the older E-series vans. Everyone I have talked to who has done this upgrade has always asked why they waited so long.

Why am I selling? The set up will not work with my lift kit. So I have to sell. Here is what is included - all OEM Ford parts!

- Big brakes = Calipers, pads, roaters, hub assembly.
- Knuckles
- I beams
- Radius arms
- New brake lines
- Tie-rods
- Shocks
- New tie-rod ends and bolts
- New Stabilizer bar with bushings

If you can do a brake job you can do this upgrade!

I’m curious: why won’t the brakes work with the lift? I understand about the suspension, but the brakes should still bolt on, assuming you still have the stock 2WD brake setup.

A great upgrade and not a bad price for all these parts. Did it on my 1998 and it made a huge difference!

So my lift is 4” and with the stock/replacement/upgrade radius arms, which have to be replaced to do this upgrade, they are too short. So the geometry is too far off to do it for my vehicle.

This would be an awesome upgrade for someone who’s suspension is stock or has a different style of lift. I’m pretty bummed but someone is going to get hooked up with this setup.

Brakes are totally separate from the arms and such, so you could still do the brake upgrade, which is the main benefit from the newer setup anyway.

Brian - did you not upgrade to the newer knuckles I beams and radius arms on yours?

Yes I did the whole deal, but I’m pretty sure you can just mount the brakes, etc., to the old style suspension. @JWA did it... check out his thread where he details the swap.

Oh yeah. I’m all over his thread. That’s where I got the idea but I wanted to do the whole upgrade since I had all the parts but due to the modifications needed because of my lift I’m out of luck. So I’d rather sell the whole set up to someone who can take the full advantage!

I think the only real modification for the '08 Brake Upgrade I show is new flexible brake lines---those I list are for 100% bone stock 2wd E-250's, perhaps E-150's of some years after they became essentially E-250's.

In that out-of-control thread there are mentions of semi-custom brake lines being made, prices and time to deliver not mentioned (that I recall).

However if you are still selling your parts that's a good grab for anyone looking for this type of upgrade on the pre-'08 E-Series.

I picked up some OEM brake lines from Tasca.com (shipping took forever). They are needed for the newer setup, but custom ones would be cool also. My issue is that my lift has custom radius arms and with the 2019 take off, they will not work. The geometry is just a no go. The brake themself might have been a swap but I was looking to do the full meal deal. So now I have this rad set of everything from the stabilizer bar, tie-rods, correct OEM bolts, and the bigger brake set up. Its a pretty good deal if someone local (PNW) - but shipping would be a bear.
