100,000 miles

100,000 miles and counting. Turned over 100K yesterday near Franktown, CO.

8 years and 100K doesn't seem like much, but they are all traveling, camping miles. No trips to the store or work. Still, 12,500 miles/year since I picked it up in 2004.

Here is a partial list of places the van has been:

Alaska (twice)
Big Bend
Key West
Labrador
Newfoundland
Yukon Territory
Yosemite
Sequoia/Kings Canyon
Death Valley
Canyon de Chelly
Cape Cod
Everglades
Devil's Tower
Little Big Horn
Yellowstone
Zion
Bryce Canyon
Theodore Roosevelt Nat'l Park (north and south units)
Chaco Culture
Mammoth Caves
Carlsbad Caverns
Dealer's repair shop (8 times)
and about a hundred more places that don't come to mind.

As of the last fillup:

100140 miles 6021.21 gallons of diesel costing $18833.88 for an average of 16.63mpg.

I don't want to talk about How much the van cost, and my wife doesn't want to know how much has been spent on accessory items.

I'd have to say it has been worth it however.

Mike

Re: 100,000 miles

Mike,

Congratulations on your van turning over 100,000. I can say having just seen it last month that it still looks like brand new only better from all the detailed improvements you have made. It has helped you see many places and do many things
that you could not or would not have done without it. You cannot replace any of those great travel memories. Enjoy your travels..

Jamie

Re: 100,000 miles

That's a good report. We got our vans about the same time. I picked mine up in July 2004. I turn 60K in a few weeks. But I would need to add my list the store, work commutes, donut runs and we certainly share the ever popular service visits. My work gets in the way of long trips but I truly consider it my early retirement plan. I get to do fun things with it while I'm still working.

Keep on Truck'n Mike!

Regards,
Pat

Re: 100,000 miles

Hey, welcome to the 100K club! 104K and counting, we joined last summer around crater lake on our road trip out west. Got the van with about 55K in 06.
