You (white SMB w baja boxes and mountain bikes on back) were heading south on highway 19 right around Courtenay. I was heading north (grey GTRV) waving like a mad man! We don't see too many SMB's north of the border. FROB's bro!!!!

There is at least one more: If you see a Pueblo Gold '08 cruising around the (What is euphemistically called) "The Sunshine Coast", that's us...

That was us. KTTN plates. The kitten likes playing in the mud. A week on the island was not nearly enough. Canadians seem universally even keeled, kind affect and genuine mannerisms. They have the right idea. And I need to work less or figure out how to make money while sleeping.
If anyone is going to Tofino. I highly suggest Mussle Beach, if you want to get away from the touresty campgrounds riddled with rental RV's. The 20 min down a rough 2wd road helps filter. The owner is really neat guy and will always fine accomodations for SMB. They have 150 acres, 27 in the campground.
Advice to anyone comming north. Do not tell the boarder patrol that you own guns or plan on owning guns. I was just being honest and told them I was informed enough about Canadian gun laws to leave them at home. They did not believe me. Even then, they were better than the US patrol. Although most were more interested in the van than potential drug trafficing.
I would love information on accessable Crown land. Seems much of the logging roads on the middle and southern island were owned by the logging companies and therefore gated.
