?Any Long term reviews of Aero fuel tanks?

I’m looking at getting an Aero 40gal diesel mid ship fuel tank with skid plate.

I’m wondering if anybody on here has a long term review of one of these tanks.

My concern is weld quality and longevity of the steel material they use.

Here’s some photos of a current tank that I’d be picking up…

Is this a used tank you are buying from a private party, or new tank from the manufacturer?

The welds shown in the pictures don't look very uniform, is that why you are asking?

I have an older Transfer Flo, leak tight and in great shape after 27yrs

The upfitter did a piss-poor job on the fill routing of the aft mounted 27 gallon tank

The photos are directly from Sales at Aero tanks. This is a brand new tank ready for pickup. The welds look concerning to me.

They warranty them for 2yrs 30k miles, I would think you'd uncover any 'infant mortality' leaks in that time. Call them and voice your concerns, ask them how many returns they get per month...

I have been running one for a couple of years, no issues so far. The welds are not pretty by todays standards, but I have not had any leaks, and it seems pretty heavy duty.

At a minimum, I would hope that they pressure test the tank before selling it.

Do you have any rust showing up on your tank yet?

No rust that I have noticed, and I am happy with the purchase.

Six years on our 41gal unit and no issues. Jake is a stand up guy.

I recommend having an aux fuel pick up installed in the tank for future heater install.

I had the same concerns when I bought my Aero tank four years ago, so I spent the extra money to have the tank made with 304L SS. Aero’s SS welder (at least then) was an artist and the welds he laid down are a thing of beauty. No issues with the tank in the four years I have had it.
