Electric penthouse clearance, floor to ceiling
The fabric sides of my penthouse have never been very tight, I can always see large wrinkles when it is up. I have an electric lift system. The measurement from the floor to the ceiling is 6' 7.5" and it is suppose to be 6' 10". I was wandering if anyone else has this problem. If possible I would like to here what measurement others with an electric lift system have. All the pictures I see on the forum of other penthouse tops the fabric looks tight.
Thanks,
Woody

Re: Electric penthouse clearance, floor to ceiling
Is yours the portable or built in lift?
Ours is built in and the sides are tight.
Are your bars straight?

Re: Electric penthouse clearance, floor to ceiling
I would say they are built in. I ordered the electric lift when I placed the order.

Re: Electric penthouse clearance, floor to ceiling
Greg,
The cross bars are not bent. A while back I was checking out the tracks, at the end of each track I noticed about an inch of travel left when the actuator stops in the up position. That inch of travel would probably give me the 2.5" up.
I talked to Peter at SMB and he said there is no adjustment.

Re: Electric penthouse clearance, floor to ceiling
There is always a way to make adjustments.
I think on the manual tops there is a chain and springs.
I would think that with the electric there are either stops or sensors or travel limits that could be adjusted.
What did SMB say about the condition of the top not being all the way up?

Re: Electric penthouse clearance, floor to ceiling
I thought there was a block or something on the electric lift that changed where it stopped, but it might be the manual PH I'm remembering. Search with John Kalmbach as author he's provided a ton of great info.
