Great looking ladder!

question - did you through bolt the top all the way to the inside of the van? Looks like bolts sticking out. Did you make a lip to hang on the roof gutter?

Re: New SMB Owner: 93 Ford E250 2x4

thanks, guys.

here's a few additional photos that I wasn't able to post yesterday. Hopefully the photos of the brackets will answer your questions, rockbender. I used stainless steel, flat head socket screws (1/4"x20) welded in place to secure the ladder to the brackets.

I've since added grip tape to the rungs of the ladder.

For the paint, I did a 3-stage process. Rustoleum Primer -> Rustoleum Multicolor Textured (gray, 1 coat) -> Rustoleum Textured (black, 2 coats)

Nice photos - thanks for the up close shots! I agree with Jage - great attention to detail. So do you have any fasteners on the top of the ladder, or is it just hooked over the gutter lip?

The finished product looks great!

Re: New SMB Owner: 93 Ford E250 2x4

Thanks again guys. I'm def happy with the finished product.

Yup, I have two socket button head screws that clamp down into the rain gutter. I added two very thin pieces of aluminum where to screws pinch the gutter to help protect the paint.

making some solid progress. tacked everything together, did a test fit and now onto the finish welding, drilling holes, painting, etc.

What kind of tubing is that? It looks lightweight.

1" EMT conduit. Not sure it's considered light weight but it should get the job done.
Each 10ft section weighs 6.6lbs (according to the Google). I used +/-10 pieces plus the 14ga steel plates. should be in the 70-75lbs range when done.

I'll be using about 32lbs of kennel flooring so it'll be around 100-110lbs when installed.
