my searching experience has been relatively good. generally I don't know the name of the part anyway, so it takes me a little while to find what I'm looking for but I do eventually get there. If not, then I browse and end up buying other crap I don't need. It's a win-win situation.

Perfect example - I had no idea what the spring clips were called. I started with "tool holder" as my search syntax - wallah, there they were.

Really love the onboard computer setup!

My only worry would be spilling a drink in that keyboard! Do they still make those ugly plastic keyboard covers that you could use just while traveling? Or do you take the keyboard down while moving?

You've been keeping us in suspense this whole time and then only post one pic of the tire carrier!

sorry - that pic was from my cell. Needed some time to save down my point and shoot pics. Without further delay.

Great work! Would you do it again or would you buy?

I would def build it. If money wasnt an issue, sure I'd love to have an Aluminess setup... but only after the Quigley install . For me the only way this would ever happen is to call on some fabricator friends to build it for me.

Did you have to pull the hinge bolt and install a longer one? If so how difficult was it to get the bolt out? That is a nice mod. I've seen a few of those break

Are you referring to the OE hinge pin? Yes, I had to remove it and replace it with a grade8 7/16" bolt. Removing the OE pin wasn't too bad. Like many others, drilling the bottom of the pin then using an air-hammer seems to get the job done without too much fuss.

I did end up making a few brass bushings for the 7/16" bolt to make up the difference in size with the OE hinge pin which appears to be just shy of 9mm. Unfortunately I never did track down a metric or standard equivalent.
