Dave, the adapter hose we got is very similar to the one pictured via your link. We chose one shorter than 8 feet simply because we didn't need the bottle that far from the stove. My opinion about using the stove inside - absolutely, provided it's located properly (like on the counter where a builtin stove would be) and there's ventilation. As I understand it, there's no difference between this thing and the propane burners permanently installed on some rigs. Personally I'd be careful using it inside a regular, non-converted van, ensuring that it's well away from flammable material and sitting on a solid, fireproof base (unless you'd like to collect insurance on your van to put toward your SMB...).

That's true: as long as it's on a counter where a cooktop would be anyway, I guess cooking inside would be "normal" use as well.

I hope my local store(s) carry these smaller 5-pound tanks! All I've ever seen are the "regular" BBQ gas grill tanks (20-pound / 5- gallon). Well, that and the tiny (16-oz?) Coleman propane lantern types.

Thanks again for your posts!

I have two versions. Home depot has the tanks that look just like a 5 gallon tank only smaller but I also found a tank at the local fishing supply store that is the same diameter around as a 5 gallon just cut in half. The bottom on these tanks are way more stable than the type Home Depot has. Both have pros and cons to each other.
