Having assisted 1der in his quest for meaningful diversion load control, I think the Kid is a awesome controller that may even slice bread.
We've both talked to the technical folks at Midnite solar and trust me, the kid does everything........
I just installed a pair of those same Renogy eclipse panels are they work great and are the smallest/highest energy density that I could find. The build quality is perhaps not as high as the Kyocera panel that I am also using with them, but having a manual PH top means you are lifting those puppies every time you raise the top, so every pound counts.
I'm using a much more pedestrian Samlex 30 amp PWM controller, so I'm limited to wiring the panels in parallel. With the kid, you have the luxury of wiring them in series if you want. Series will 1/2 the amperage so you can use smaller wire, although parallel panels may have some advantages in partial shade.
Hogasm: The Renogy panel wires are terminated with MC4 connectors. I picked up some additional connectors and a crimper when I bought mine as well as MC4 parallel Y connectors...they are quite cheap from Renogy.
Also, we used a cheap chinese MPPT controller on the neighbor's RV....the thing would sometimes output over 15V....within a year the vents on both of the neighbor's AGM house batteries were popped......the tops of both batteries were all wavy with gaskets hanging out. He replaced that controller with the same Samlex that I'm using....before we really understood the kid....and replaced both AGM batteries...ouch!
