Inverter / Charger

I have a 1997 E350 Econoline van. Starting the electrical and solar. what I am seeing, it is recommended to go with the 2000watt pure sine wave inverter charger.

since I an going with Renogy panels, I decided to go with 100 watt panels, 40 solar charger and the Renogy 2000 watt inverter / charger / transfer switch.

over the weekend I received my items. This charger inverter is godly large. larger that what I was thinking and now changing my plan of location.

1. not sure if I am going to stay with the Renogy inverter charger. what I don't like is that the inlet wires are on the same side and the monitor screen. How often will I need to look at this LCD screen? This will change the direction or orientation of the unit. also, the new model does not have an AC plug. I will have to hard wire for any AC connection.
2. for the people that go inverter and separate charger. Pro vs Con?
3. do you all like the single unit or the dual.

my van battery is under the hood. My battery bank in under the van near rear axle and it looks like the inverter charger will go under the back seat, inside the van directly above the battery band. not yet sure were the space for all the cut off switches, fuses and shunts are going to go.

last question. getting the battery isolator, this connects from the hood batter to the battery bank to charging while van is operating. Typically, what gauge wire is being used to connect those two.

Thanks for all your help and input.

Many units have a separate remote display that can be mounted to monitor. The xantrex 2000XC is physically a smaller unit and has worked well for me.
