After replacing the solar controller the separator's excessive cycling stopped. During the replacement, I noticed that the battery wire (negative) was slightly loose at the terminal. Replaced that terminal as well. Thanks to all for the guidance and help.

Thanks for posting the resolution. I find it frustrating when people post a problem but never post what the solution was. That's where the lessons learned come in.
