Was having a problem with the Victron Energy BMV-6005, similar to a Xantrex smart meter, smart battery meter that is in my rig. It was working fine up until now. Recently it would occasionally work and other times it would not show any data.
Was cleaning the starting and house battery terminals today and while I had the hood up I checked the wiring to the Victron. Everything looked right. Then I opened the fuse holder. Their was corrosion on the contacts on both sides of the fuse. Cleaned them up and the unit is now working perfectly again.
For those of you who are not familiar with this type of meter it can display real time battery voltage, amp draw, run time till battery is drained, and a few more things. The latest version
BMV-700 connects to an app on your phone. I have not interest in the company, just find the meter very handy.
