How do you delete your account?

The behavior of some folks on this and other Sportsmobile communities is disgusting; how do I delete my account from this forum?

I've always just stopped accessing any site I had no more interest in - has worked well for me.

You will have to email "support@socialknowledge.com" as stated in the TOS. Inform them you no longer consent to the terms of service and wish to terminate your account. Other than that there is no provision provided for canceling an account to my knowledge.

Pay sites are required by law to provide members a method to cancel accounts online. However for now it doesnt apply to so called free forums and sites to my knowledge. Despite the fact most of them profit from harvesting and selling your data and personal information to third parties.

Your local State Attorney Generals office, consumer complaints could probably provide you with detailed information on that topic. Unfortunately until enough people start making noise nothing changes.

For myself when distancing myself from a forum removing all forms of forum contact seems to work quite well. Along with never returning to said forum even to check in I've never had any push back or issues with just stopping my participation.

On the odd occasion where I've received contact from said forum there tends to be an "unsubscribe" option in such contacts making it easier to establish or maintain the distance.

To ScrapIron's points---too many do NOT read the ToS, simply click the "accept" link and never look back---UNTIL they run across an issue they could have avoided by NOT accepting the ToS.

I tend to avoid revealing too much about my personal life or aspects I consider private, have very very rarely had to do with too many unwanted ill effects from being online. I will share my phone number and throw away email account but do that very selectively too. For the most part being a bit skeptical and/or "paranoid" about being online has saved me a lot of grief I think.
