Mobile App Changes

In the coming days forum access via the mobile app will be discontinued and we wanted to make you aware of some other options so that your surfing won't be interrupted.

Our forums software has a mobile view with this same functionality. Transitioning to this view on smaller screens is straightforward and we'll add convenient links at the top of the page to help you navigate to the mobile-friendly view. You will find those links right at the top of the list of forums as you log in. Click the desired link to toggle the view.

In the coming months, we'll be moving to new software (exciting details soon) so this current change is a temporary one. Deprecating the mobile app has been a difficult choice but we are taking this step in an abundance of caution as security concerns for this aging platform increase. We take member privacy seriously and believe that the inconvenience caused by this change is outweighed by broader privacy issues. Thanks for understanding.

Same here and I really like the aggregation of tapatalk. Must be cost as it sold recently.

Well that’s it folks, gone! I’m posting this from my phone on the website after just watching the forum literally disappear right before my eyes, no more access through Tapatalk.
Looks like I have to relearn how to navigate to find anything. I’m not sure if this “mobile” view has the same functionality. I haven’t tried, but what about posting photos? The process of uploading and resizing just so the photos don’t post upside down is just tedious.

The mobile view has less functionality than the desktop view from the home screen. I have been using desktop view on my phone, but it is small font. One can't see if there are new posts in a subforum from the home screen in mobile view although one could just click on new posts at the top of the page.

For photos, just make sure the phone is horizontal and the camera is on the left. No need to crop after. This forum is not the only one with the phone photo issue.

For posting photos, either click on the photo icon to link a photo on the web or click on "Go Advanced" and then "Manage Attachments" to upload photos to the forum. Then select photo, upload, etc. Uploading a photo has several steps so not as easy.
