Headrests off bench seat. Also, sliding wardrobe doors removed for now as the sub underneath them was rattling them like mad. Every square inch was Dynamatted. Walls thoroughly/completely insulated by hand. Floor has Dynamat, 1/2" foam/vinyl (MLV), 1/2" marine grade plywood, and covered in Lonseal rubber floor. Front buckets on swivels. Drivers can go 90 degrees and passenger 180. Recovered in Ultraleather and seat heaters installed. Encore E9 2-way alarm. JL Audio XD600/6 (600 watt amp), JL 8" sub, 5 Kenwood Excelon 6" x 8" speakers, tweeters in A pillars of doors.

Another look at the Propex as well as the JL Audio amp. The Propex units are pretty darn slick. 25% the size of a suburban, uses LP, has a thermostat, and combustion as well as fresh air plumbed to outside. Not sure why more people don't use them. Westfalia folks are all about them.

Also, the tweeters in the A-pillars.

That turned out very nice. Is the rear bench a one-off ?

It's a one-off but not fully custom. These guys (http://www.discountvantruck.com) took one of their standard bench/beds and cut it to width and the cushions were modified by them to account for the bit that hangs over the base is greater on one side.

Very nice interior really well finished. I like the bamboo finish.

Your cabinets are the best I have seen on this site, this is coming from a high end trim contractor. Can you tell me more about the plywood you used for the cabinets.

This will give you a good idea of what bamboo ply looks like as well as a brief description of how it's made. http://www.calibamboo.com/bambooplywood.html The bullnose on the counter top was done by bonding two 3/4" sheets to each other and then routed/finished.

Some details on those cool pull-out Fiamma awning bottom brackets would be great. I just bought a set of Fiamma body mounts, but I like the pull-out idea that you have.

Re: '12 E250 RB 5.4L w/ SMB penthouse custom build

The Fiamma mounting setup is 1" steel bar stock w/ the Fiamma receiver portion bolted to a flat tab on the end of the stock. Under the rig is some more square stock that functions just like the receiver on a tow hitch. The receiving bit is slightly larger to allow the 1" to slide in and is welded to the chasis. I think greggd pioneered the design and I got the idea from him. Just about every rig that has had the sheet metal drilled to mount eventually end up cracking (or worse, tearing). Also, by having the fiamma mount a bit away from the rig allows the awning to be rolled out fully. Otherwise, at least on mine, the adjustable vertical bars are not long enough to mount on the rig and fully deploy the awning.
