Insulation Question
Hey Everyone,
I'm about to start gutting my interior and start my sound deadening and insulation process but I have some questions that I am hoping some of you can help me with.
I have the following to work with:
72 SQFT of Noico Sound Deadening
36 SQFT of Noico Thick Sound Deadening (Green Heavy Vinyl Mass)
500 SQFT of Tempsheild Reflectix Insulation (I know it's a lot but it was the smallest roll they had, guess I have extra!)
My plan is prep all the surface area and install the Noico conservatively around the van, the heavy vinyl mass I am thinking of using on the wheel wells and dog house area. Once I've covered most of the area I will start applying it more liberally.
Once that is done in goes the insulation on the body panels, doors, etc. Does it make sense to install the reflectix last? Example, Van Surface, Noico, Thinsulate, Reflectix.
Do I install it with the reflective part facing the interior of the van or face towards the exterior of the van?
I am also planning to create window covers with my excess materials. It would be layered like a sandwich, thinsulate in the middle with a fabric one side and reflectix on the other. When its hot, reflectix face the window, when it's cold I flip it around.
For my hightop (bare fibreglass) I was planning mimicking what Lastblacke350 did (photo attached), gluing strips of wood in a grid pattern which will eventually hold up my ceiling boards/lighting.
Thanks!
