Re: Quadvan Upgrades/Modifications etc....
We have spent several hours on Brent's van improving the handling and ride quality. We re-sprung the front with a longer higher rate spring and and increased the bump travel as well as overall travel and removed the sway bar. This really improved the ride of the van, but there was more to do.
A week or so later, I happened to see Brent on the freeway up ahead of me and followed him for several miles observing the handling. I called him up and told him we needed to remove some of the spring in the rear as I could see it was too stiff. We removed two selected leafs and from his Deaver packs and then added back a factory Ford spacer to get back the lost ride height.
Sometimes you get lucky - we hit it just right and really smoothed the van out to where it really rides nice and I am very happy with it.
This week I also re-sprung a Quigley SportsMobile and installed custom valved Fox Shox - what a game changer!
