Really? I'd've thought the opposite... the CCV would be more neutral being closer to a van roof, where the SMB PH adds lots of fiberglass and has a much beefier frame.

To convert or not?

I'll be driving towards Denver to drop my van off with Derek at CCV this weekend, I plan to ask him some of these same questions. I've already asked and learned a ton. I'm pretty sure he just uses Fiberine tops, or the like, not sure how beefed up they are over stock though. No problems holding Yakima/Thule bars and boxes though, and he claims they will hold the weight of a few people on the roof.
Jäger, I'll drop you a line if I have some time, but it's gonna be a quick turn for me though.
