A Wheel question for 2wd owners

I'm having a heck of a time figuring out what rim size to get. My search results on the forum pull up a lot of different backspacing and whatnot. I want the 17" american racing Mojave rim with 285/70/17 tire. What spec rim do I need? I have a D60 rear with drums if that makes a difference. Since today is CYBER MONDAY I'm going to try and get somewhat of a deal.

DerPro, not sure if your search turned up the Tire and Wheel Gallery (linked below). Various owners posted wheel details in the thread that might be useful. Good luck.

You don't get a choice... if you want the Mojave Teflon to fit your 8 on 6.5" axle, they only offer it in 0 offset/ 4 1/2" backspacing... which is exactly what I'd recommend anyway.

edit: it looks like AX39817882 is the part number, double check!

I think they are disconinued... but here's a good price on 3!

Can someone confirm that these will work before I pull the trigger?

I did, what I found were mostly 4x4 vans, I'm not sure if that makes a difference with the axles and such...

Re: A Wheel question for 2wd owners

Also this site has all for $20 more....

I just want to make sure they are all the same and will fit!

These rims aren't going to be too "narrow" on the axle, correct? they will "sick out" enough to not look funny?

Re: A Wheel question for 2wd owners

Since you're in SoCal, there should be some "4 wheel parts" stores in your area. You should call and see if they have any deals on them right now. Is there a reason you're going with a 17" wheel? I'm just wondering if tires are more expensive in 17's compared to 16's.

They don't make the teflon coated Mojave any more, so they are harder to find. I called a 4wp and they don't have any.

I will most likely upgrade my brakes in the future and 16" rims wont clear the bigger rotors.

Re: A Wheel question for 2wd owners

DerPo: I bought mine at Tucker Tire in Laguna Niguel....Give Brad a call.....he owns the place and can talk wheels.......

As mentioned the 17" ATX mojave only comes in one backspacing for 8 x 6.5".....

What is your current van chassis year? I swapped out my '03 stock E250 brakes for the '08 version without any fitment issues at all, still using stock 16" steel wheels.
