No worries Bajadave. When you mentioned you were "stuck with the 2006 axle" I thought you might be considering looking for a different doner axle to start with. I was thinking of an option for you to offload an axle you didn't necessarily want. Please keep us posted on your progress.

Bajadave, is your van a 4wd? If so what front axle do you have. If it is a late model ford pickup axle you could find a sterling axle (matching bolt pattern) and solve most of your issues and get bigger brakes.
Lilnuts2, no its only 2 wheel drive. Looking at a possible 4 wheel drive conversion in the future. I currently have a Camburg 4 inch lift, fox shocks and 33 inch tires rides like a dream hate to mess it up. Thinking an ARB air locker with 4.10 gears will help out some when off roading.
I would stop messing with it and do the 4x4 first.
Having said that, I replaced my Dana 60 with a Dana 70 FF in my 2008 and it is perfect, It also is 2in wider so it matched my Dynatrac front axel perfectly deleting the need for spacers.

If you were going with a coil spring front Dana 60 the bolt pattern will not match the Dana 70.
its actually a 2007 axle after talking with salvage yard again and they ran VIN # on van they claim it did have RSC. My concern is it has 60 tooth tone ring on the hubs. Am i correct that the later model van like my 2014 went to a 54 tooth tone ring? When i try to look up a rear axle tone ring for my van they dont exist. Am i missing something?
My current axle is a Dana 70 semi floating axle so it has a different type hub. I have not taken wheel off to look at but will that tone ring be same size diameter? what was so confusing to me is a was looking online for a 2014 abs tone ring for a floating axle and could not find one. tried every google search possible only listed for front.
That's a good point about the ring possibly being different. I have no idea. Generally, Ford keeps the braking systems typical, but I don't know if that extends to the ABS rings. I'm guessing Ford doesn't sell them because they aren't a wear part. It's likely only available using the axle BOM, since it's part of the axle assembly.
