Mattress Topper Suggestions

Hello friends,

We have a 2001-build EB-50 with a hard top. We fold the couch down every night to sleep.

The 23-year old foam padding is showing its age from a comfort standpoint.

We got it in 2017 and initially didn’t use a mattress topper. We got one probably 3-4 years ago and it’s a major improvement…but we didn’t really do any research and got one at target that fit.

Of course, it’s way better if the bed is set up ahead of time and it can fluff up. But it’s also our one couch so it often gets put together last minute before bed.

We carry it around and store it all rolled up.

So who has bought a topper recently that can be rolled up and you’re happy with it? Looking to upgrade.

Thank you!

Bed comfort is so much in the eye of the beholder I hesitate to even get in to it but I've been very happy with a 1.5" memory foam topper over 3" cushions. I keep a fitted sheet over the topper and roll it up with a quilt and bed sheet and it stores rather nicely.

The one I currently have was about $50 on Amazon and I will happily toss and replace as necessary.

Haven't bought one recently but my only pro tip is stiffer/firmer is often better (which can seem counterintuitive). Memory foam can bottom out and not be of much use. But if it's stiff it suspends like a hammock and is great. Doesn't need to be thick either. Just having a look at Amazon they have changed a lot - may want to look at an rv forum for suggestions there.

Tried some for the bed, and really, it would be better to re-foam your bench....eliminates the daily need too roll up and store...just a suggestion....

I had my 2002 E350 SMB (3970 actual miles) gaucho couch foam (bed foam - not back foam) replaced in April 2021 - during Covid - I could feel the tube steel framework - used the original Fresno diamond covering, springs, buttons, etc. Installed 5 inch thick foam - cost was $ 650 bucks. Had I been able to replace prior to Covid I was told it would have cost approx $ 475 ! Gotta love what Covid did to EVERYTHING !? Sleeps much better now - Although I do wish that I could have forgone keeping those _amn buttons ! Toss on my 20 degree sleeping bag - and "zzzzz" -
