Hello from a GTRV in San Jose, CA

Long-time reader, first time poster.
After camper vanning around New Zealand south island for a month we decided a van was for us in our current state of life. We found a nice used 2006 GTRV from Mike at GTRV in Sebastopol , CA a few years back and have been loving the van life. Dispersed camping in the western states and stealth camping along the California beaches.
The rig is setup nicely with everything an RV has, plus 100w of solar, two house batteries, and a 19" LCD TV. Best bang-for-buck investment so far has been in a steering dampener! (but we've done a lot of upgrades)

It would be cool to meetup camping somewhere in the future with a group of camper vans and share a beer!

I'm a longtime GTRV owner and have logged well over 500 nights in mine since buying it new in 2001. Still loving it and looking forward to my first camping trip for 2019 next weekend.

I also manage a Yahoo group for GTRV owners and wannabees if you are interested. https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/gtrvwesty/info

Beta 2014 400RS. Great bike. Husky 250TE for the gf goes on front van rail. Funny looking rig on the highway doing 75mph. We just mounted remote taillights and headlights on the racks to feel legit....and to see at night!
Fully loaded to the gills we're just below GVW.

Nice, we GTRV owners are a rare breed around here. How has your rear A/C unit held up. I do a lot of off roading, and have killed two different units by the second trip, but I'm going to try again this summer.
