Last Feb - after over 110K miles enjoying our van I finally decided to try to address the engine noise issue with our 7.3 PSD. Read on this forum about the QuietRide heat/sound mitigation solution for the doghouse and decided to try it out.

The kit comes with everything needed for installation except a cleaning solvent. The directions were good enough and I had the whole project done in under 2 hours. I think most anyone the least bit handy could do it themselves at home.

The results of the mod were better than I had expected. Not only is the cabin quieter but also noticeably cooler. We used to pop the hood when stopping to camp to keep the engine heat out of the van - no longer necessary. We've put 10k miles on since the mod and I'm still smiling.

IMO, At around $135 shipped this is by far the most bang for the buck if one is driving a diesel van.

Perfect timing to read your post, and thanks for sharing. I was just researching this and was wondering about this products effectiveness. Drove up a long grade yesterday and the doghouse was hot to the touch. My wife asked how we could keep the heat out. It's about time I addressed this.
Did you get it directly from the manufacturer? How long did it take to get?

I bought it directly from them Steve QuietRide Solutions I called first to confirm what I was looking at was what I wanted. I think I received it within a week. Good product and good service.

I just ordered one for the doghouse. My brain was starting to rattle after a solid 12hr drive back from Zion this last week. Thanks for posting the information.
