Heads up! I thought I read about somebody on the forum dragging their gas tank down the road. Ford just recalled thousands of pre-2000 models for rusted straps. Check it out at the Ford web site.

The recall is only for pickups - F-Series, not vans.
As Jage hinted, the Transferflow tank uses different straps.

The recall is for Ford trucks in the 20 or so coldest states where a lot of salt is used for ice on the highways.
I have a "97" F-250 4x4 so I checked it out.

I have done none of the above. So when the recall said 20 coldest states, I knew I didn't have to take it in, I stopped reading.
I did go out to take a look at the straps and they were fine.
