It's a hi-ace. For non-US/Canada markets only.
They are fuel efficient, but slow and don't handle great. Worse part is the ride. I get car-sick in the driver's seat.
The new Hi-Ace's are pretty nice are far as interior go. But there's only so much you can do for the ride when you sit in front of the axle. (I can't stand driving cabover trucks for the same reason).
I used to have an old Hi-Ace. It got great gas mileage, and it fit in the back of my Weekend Warrior trailer with room to spare. But it did not have enough traction in the rain to get up the ramp, so it would require about a 50' running start, and hitting the brakes before landing, to avoid crashing into the kitchen.
I called it the "Afgani-van"
PS: 0-60 happened in minutes, and that was only on flat ground or downhill. Top speed was about 68 on flat ground, pedal to the floor (which is where it spent most of my commute).
