SMB Appraisal, Appraiser

Hoping that I’m not starting a thread on a topic that has been discussed already. I see multiple posts/threads on insurance, and how these beasts are covered. Many are doing appraised value policies. Since that’s the case, it would be nice to develop a list of appraisers that know these vehicles and what they are truly going for in the market right now. That said, does anyone have history with a quality appraisal? Personally, I’m in Oregon and am needing a certified appraisal for my 98 7.3 SMB HOLY GRAIL. Really appreciate the input.

It is a good idea to screen shot and save all relative for sale listings and keep them safe in the cloud so you have them for a rainy day should you need them. Most people with these vans go for "stated value" insurance and usually if you work with a company that is familiar with them you will not need an appraisal to agree upon a relatively close/fair value of the van. I have had a great experience with SafeCo insurance. Easy to get a stated value of $80k with a single phone call.

Sweet van but I think that what most consider the "holy grail" a 2003 7.3 w SMB 4x4.

Thanks for the input. I understand the method people are taking is a stated value policy. Understand that most companies that issue these claims will invoke an appraisal process in which they hope their appraisal Valkyrie of $15k will lower your $80 k policy. That said, we need a list of appraisers that are able to value the vehicle appropriately.

Interesting point on the holy grail. Is there a major difference in the year models. I feel like the 7.3 era is hard to find. The 7.3 with 4x4 is tougher. The 7.3 with the sportsmobile is super rare. But the factory 7.3 built from day one to be a factory ship through quigley with a full SMB buildout is it. ??? Maybe dual certification of Origin paperwork from sportsmobile and Ford would make it even harder to find.

The HOLYGRAIL designation can only be bestowed. It can not be claimed!

I think mine must be the holy grail because every time I'm in it, I feel younger.
