Ours is in that price range and I am thinking about putting it on the market in May. Its a 97 Chevy with 62K miles. The body is a little dinged up, but it is reliable. Its in the SF Bay area....

We have a 97 Chevy 2WD RB 5.7l and get 16 - 17 MPG on long trips. I generally obey the speed limit (+1 or 2 MPH) and try to drive to maximize mileage. Around town I don't even calculate the mileage...
