For those of you that have removed the original awning brackets, what size holes are left in the van body? I'm finally ordering some butyl to back Eli's brackets, but still need to find some good...

Phil,

No wonder it sounded familiar. If I go with Eli's brackets, I'll find similar plugs and silicone them in as well to hide the holes and prevent water intrusion. It's sad that I'm thinking...

That's a nice, elegant solution, much more so that bolting or screwing into the van body. Are those brackets held in place with just tension from the bolts? Also, any problems with the PH top...

Is the plate intended to just spread the load? I don't like that the plates are attached with Philips head screws. I'd rather see bolts and corresponding nuts on the inside.
