I can only tell you to call Berger or Anncarina, both can do computer diagnostics of your tranny. I see no sense at all in throwing parts, i.e. used tranny, at the problem and in the end we're talking about a blown fuse for 25c.

My mechanic suggested to swap. I agree with you to believe in a non mechanical issue ( 100k miles, nice oil without smell, no load lately). Otherwise the tranny would have been out already.
