Quigley v. Quadvan v. SMB
I did some searching on the site (none of these sites have good search engines), but the consensus seems to be SMB is better for true offroad, Quadvan has the best ride and the better turning radius, Quigley also has a decent ride, but qualitatively seems to come in third, though it is also a bit cheaper. Do people agree? I live on both coasts, so geography is not an issue. I lean a bit to the Quadvan for the ride and turning radius unless it is a lot pricier than the Quigley.

Re: Quigley v. Quadvan v. SMB
Apples to apples, Quadvan should cost similar to Quigley. Quadvan has many options that Quigley cannot furnish - i.e.: TransferFlow 46 gallon fuel tank, wheels and tires. Quigley comes with 245/70-17 tires. If you want bigger, you will buy them after you get the van. Any other customizing that can be done by Quadvan (bumpers, shocks, etc.) will be done after the fact if you get a Quigley.
Don't get me wrong, the Quigley is a great product. Most 4x4 vans you see are Quigley as they sell through any Ford dealer and are the primary 4x4 van for commercial use.

Re: Quigley v. Quadvan v. SMB
QuadVan costs a little more ($2k I think?) than Quigley, but I think it's worth every penny. I was lucky enough to see both side by side on adjacent racks, and the QuadVan is simply a better conversion. Quigley cuts some corners in areas they really shouldn't (like modifying some Ford axle parts instead of adapting their components to work as-is). Also, Quigley results in a larger turning radius, while QuadVan results in a smaller turning radius compared to 2wd (same with SMB). QuadVan (and SMB) setup their conversions to be tuned with the final van (ie camper conversion, heavy bumpers etc) and with Quigley, it's one size fits all since the conversion must be done before anything else is done to the van.
SMB is a more trail-ready system, but it requires a little more maintenance, and will not be serviceable at most Ford dealers, unless the dealer is willing to work with non-Ford parts.
SMB and QuadVan can do TransferFlow tanks.

It should read Advanced v. Quigley v. Quadvan v. SMB.
Advanced 4x4 is located in Salt Lake City. Check them out at http://www.advanced4x4vans.com/

Re: Quigley v. Quadvan v. SMB
The only Advanced 4x4 I've seen was new this year, and used a Dana 50 front axle instead of a Dana 60. And it looked much less robust than a QuadVan or S-K conversion.

Quigley v. Quadvan v. SMB
My apples to apples comparison between Quadvan and SMB revealed the same price (that included extras like the bumpers, winch, etc). Quadvan's basic package is cheaper. However, it doesn't include a few of the things that are standard on the SMB conversion.

Re: Quigley v. Quadvan v. SMB
FYI:
The following was emailed to me from Quigley, don't know if this would change anyone's view:
I noticed dated information is being used on the forum regarding Quigley
Motor Company. As with all products there is a continual evolution to
achieve a better one. Our turning radius is now 49' curb to curb and the
axle is not modified, retaining all F-series components. We do change the
Ford torque arms because they end up attaching to the frame in an area not
compatable with Ford engineers design. I would welcome your call to discuss
the project before you commit to such a large investment.
