Tire and Wheel Gallery - Post Yours Here!

Man, now I really want your tire size. I settled for 295/70/17 but should have pulled the trigger on 315/70/17 and have the Agile boyz make it work.

They can make anything fit lol.

Toyo MT

Hey Guys,

I just replaced my 315 70r 17 BFG AT with Toyo 35x12.50x17 MT after cutting a sidewall on my BFG's on a rock in a small stream crossing.

I bought them because they are supposed to have one of the strongest sidewalls in the industry. They are relatively quiet and handle pretty good for a mud tire.

They are heavy, I can feel the additional weight for sure. I'm sure they are going to cost me 1mpg maybe less. To soon to tell.

They are mounted on Blackrock Yuma's, 17x8, 4.5 backspace, 8x170. Toyo recommends 8.5" wide minimum, BTW.

I've been running them at 50 psi. I need to chalk test them to see if I have a good contact patch. I think I could drop another 5psi when I'm not fully loaded or towing.

Ok, 1000 miles on the new Toyo MT's. Mix of off-road and highway. Let me start by saying they give you a ton of confidence off road knowing how strong they are. They are surprisingly quiet too at 70mph. They are costing my about 1mpg compared to my 315 70r 17 BFG AT's. They do squirm a bit on grooved pavement and mine pull to the right exaggerating any crown in the road. I took it in to a good alignment shop in Colorado that it used to custom lifted trucks. We swapped the tires around in every direction looking for a radial pull. It was always the same pulling right. The right wheel was slightly lower (that's caster right) so they brought it up and it helped some. It still pulls slowly right on level ground. I searched Toyo MT's and every 4x4 group has multiple threads complaining about the pull. Some sites recommend a steering stabilizer (not sure how that would help), others say live with it. Anyone experience the same issue? Have a fix? I'm running a Ujoint 6" lift. Thanks in advance.

Jim

Check out the Carli steering stabilizer. Not sure if fox has the equivalent but it's supposed to combat the right hand pull by having the shock charged and if it's too strong you just let out some pressure. I had it on my f250 when I had some Toyo 35s and if fixed the pull.

Can anybody ID these wheels? They look like ProComp 69 series to me, but the build thread says they're 17x9 w/0mm offset and 5" backspace, which is not a size Procomp makes AFAIK.

So I went through this entire thread and didn't see a direct answer that I'm looking for. Can someone tell what the biggest tire size for both 16 and 17 inch tires that will fit on a standard SMB west 4x4 build with out cutting or modifying past what smb has done.
Thank you
Tracey

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but 35" is about the max you can run on a 4x4 SMB conversion without additional fender trimming. I don't think it matters if they are 16 or 17" rims. 315/75R/16s rub just slightly on my rig at full turn. Folks with SMBs and a Quigley conversion have a hard time going anything bigger than a 285.

I'm running 315's on 16's on my Quigley. A few mods had to be done to the front end including pushing the axle forward with CCV's adj torque arms and relocating the track bar mount, also had a larger sway bar put in with end links along with the RIP kit, rides great now. Others have gotten there by trimming fenders.
