BTW, something that contributes to the weight on the right is the 2010 addition of the Blue Tech (or something like that) emission tank. It adds 140 pounds to the right side of the vehicle.

Re: Sportsmobile Lean
Paul, the salesman from Sportsmobile, assures me that the side to side out of balance and lean are NOT a safety issue. He said FedEx does it all the time.
I was concerned that with the CG out of the limit specified in the Mercedes body builder book, all the limits for lateral acceleration, etc., used by the computer for vehicle control might be affected. Am thinking about getting a second opinion. If so, any suggestions?

Paul is more than a salesman, he's the owner of Sportmobile Texas and according to someone's recent post, he is the founder of SMB.
Just because FedEx does it doesn't justify it as being right. They all drive like a bunch of psycho's or is that UPS. Same difference. Just kidding. they are all very conservative drivers.
There has to be some common practices or recommendations for proper loading for any cargo hauler. Distributing the load and securing the load. That would translate down to a van conversion prior to adding variable weight like toys and gear. You've already dropped your van off at SMB-Texas, right? Maybe you can call MBenz or Freightliner. Just an idea. Good luck, keep us posted!

Charles is the owner of SMB Texas and Indiana, also one of two original founders. Paul seems to run the entire place, being what Peter is to SMB West and also some/most of what the Feld's are- as far as I can guess. Charles is still involved in the business despite being older, and he was in the office when I was at Austin and then arriving in Frenso when I went there last.
Clear as mud, right?

Re: Sportsmobile Lean
I don't think 600 pounds is that much of a difference. Of course a visible lean would drive me crazy but the way most of the US is today 600 pounds is just a couple of guys going to a ball game.

Re: Sportsmobile Lean
The 600 pounds is the side with all the cabinets and nothing in cabinets, fridge, etc.

Re: Sportsmobile Lean
sorry to say this but it seems to to be a backward design build with every thing on the P side.
