DP tuner with tunes for sale - $80 shipped

This was installed on my van for a few years, I replaced the engine and swapped to a hydra tuner. I'm also including a custom mount tray that holds the tuner and a scangauge and mounts via ram ball.

Tunes:
80hp tune - used this almost exclusively
60hp mountain tune
40hp tune
Stock
High idle tune

Shipping included.

Were these the 6.0 van specific tunes?

Price including shipping seems like a screaming deal. I'm currently running a bone stock 2001 7.3. Can you comment on the difference using the DP tuner on gas mileage vs stock? Also, would you happen to have a photo of the set-up installed?

Thanks and cheers!

Aren't all tuners locked to the VIN they were sold to?

As far as I know the DP tuners and tunes contained in it are tied to the ECU number found on the ECU sticker, and can sometimes be found on a sticker on the driver door frame.

The DP tuner and tunes can be be reset to a new ECU code by sending it back to DP. DP was charging a fee to do that, last I checked a few years ago.

Pretty sure the Hydra chip does not have that limitation. Hydra tunes are downloaded from a library that covers "all" the relevant ECU codes. Search for your ECU code, see the tune list for that code, download the code into the tuner.

I have no idea, but very good point. I'm just trying to cleanout some old parts how much would a fair price be if this is the case?

Couldn't really comment on MPG pre-tuner, but I was getting around 14mpg on trips with it (keeping speeds around 70 mph).

Make sure you see the comment above from 86scotty, this is definitely a buyer be ware situation. I'm sure the hardware is worth something, but the tunes might be worthless if its tied to my vin. I'll drop the price to $50 if your still interested.

@allenl - I'm sure you're already aware, but If you haven't already I'm pretty sure you'll need re-load your stock tune before you part with your DP tuner.

For clarity:

The DP tuner is tied to the PCM module CODE, NOT the VIN.

The PCM module has a code e.g. VLB3 on a sticker attached to the PCM. The code can be shared amongst many VIN's, typically similar year, powertrain and configurations. If my module has the same code as the seller's PCM module the tuner will work on my van.

A duplicate sticker with code to facilitate service was often placed on the forward driver door jamb. But these are usually lost over the years. The sticker on the door jamb was far easier to read than pulling the PCM or contorting under the dash.
