ok, let me clarify....the van only needs a door to be legit on the road again----the rest of those dents are like scars---the beginning of all good stories!!! The van was written off because it has what the insurance companty calls "damage beyond reasonable repair". They paid me out the total value of the van (which turns out to be twice what i paid!!! cha-ching!!!!) I could fix the crushed in segment, but who cares!! My van is clearly function over fashion, and I doubt those will be my last dents!! STOKED!!!!

Well I would definitely rustoleum the heck out of them, especially before you go anywhere near salt water- I used to carry a can of rustoleum in my XJ wheeler and hit any fresh scrapes immediately.
nice tip....i was thinking about some kind of short term solution to the rust-to-be. i think i will now have a can in my van at all times.....probably get that side panel cut out eventually and replace it. for now though, i am kind of enjoying the wrecked look---makes the van seem tougher to me, and separates from the guys who take such immaculate care of their rigs!!!!! reading the signs on the road of life!!!

It was easier to fix than I thought, I do have to admit I had a full Bodyshop at my disposal with body and paint guys sitting in chairs telling me what to do, They had more fun than I did.
It does sound like you are enjoying the look, for now anyway! I understand that as well.
I did sell the Van so I removed the pictures from the Forum. Glad it worked out for you and it wasn't worse.
