Summer 2018, We will be........Howbout you?

Many people don't want to share, which is totally cool with me. We like our quiet trips too and this year ours will be quiet enough because the kids aren't going. Off the crowded and beaten path is the essence of Sportsmobile, in my opinion, but we always enjoy meeting up with like minded folks. We've secured a house sitter and got the animals taken care of so next weekend WE'RE OFF!!!!

Kristie and I will be headed across Texas and hope to be in Prescott/Sedona area by Monday, June 18th. Planning a leisurely drive up to the North Rim to get off grid for a few days, then hit Zion for some hiking mid to late that week. After that we'll wander through Grand Staircase over to Moab, eventually and spend the following week in the Colorado High Country, probably between Durango and Ouray. I hope to see just how far off road a 2wd Transit can go.

If you live or will be near us give me a shout! We love to get together with Sportsmopeeps for a beer, burger or coffee. Look for the Vanilla Transit with the chocolaty center.

I love the southwest and places you are heading are among my favorites. Since you mentioned the North Rim, I'll recommend Parissawampitts Point. Worth the drive if you can make it, great remote camping. If mountain biking is something you do, you can ride the Rainbow Rim trail there as well.

Quite a few forest closures around Prescott and Flagstaff because of fire danger. Sedona and the North Rim are still open but with stage II fire restrictions.

I'm back from a Grand Canyon river trip June 22nd. Give a holler if you are still in the area. Easy water fill up if anything but would be great to put a face to the name!

Scotty -

If you are headed to Prescott, the Granite Mountain Hotshot Memorial is a MUST SEE!

It was created for the 19 Hotshot Firefighters who died in the Yarnell Fire 4+ years ago.

South OC to Seattle

End of August we will be driving the coast up (4 days) to Seattle from South OC then back down through the center of the states home.

We will be doing something similar this month only we will be going up the center and down the coast. We are in the Bay Area and will be heading east over to Mono Lake/395 then north through Nevada and Idaho and just a bit of Washington before turning south and down through Oregon. Enjoy your drive!
