British Columbia is now offering free georeferenced topo maps at:
http://geobc.gov.bc.ca/Topographic_Maps_KML_Viewer.html
They can be viewed by any PDF application, but best with something that can handle the associated GPS info, like Avenza's PDF-Maps app. Then you can just move the cursor around and see the GPS coordinates. Note that those metric oriented northerners are using UTM, hence all those funny names for maps. The maps on the site are 1:20k, and look fabulous. The free ones that you download from the Avenza store are only 1:50k.
