Re: Switch panel

I bought this...your knee won't flip any of these on or off. Kind of expensive.

Blue Sea has others that are very nice.

Re: Switch panel

I am in Europe and noticed some cool switch panels on motor coaches.

Did some more research, check thee out:

(similar to Carling switches but logos are ISO 7000 automotive/equipment rather than marine)

Re: Switch panel

I know you don't like the Carling, but they have been great for me.

No I like them fine, I just have noticed it is easy to knock the actuators off on my boat.
Where did you get the panel? (and switches)

Got everything from digikey, all carling. Panel / Switches / Removal tools / rear connector blocks.
Then just made the front labels with a laser printer.

V-Series with green elimination and orange/red status

Mounting panel
http://search.digikey.com/us/en/product ... -ND/483680

Removal Tool (removes the face from the switches, and the switch from the panel)
http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSea ... ND&x=0&y=0

Connector block for switch (so you don;t need to re-pin it when you remove then)
http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSea ... rds=VC1-01
Oh, if you use the connector blocks, you also need to buy the spade connectors.

Re: Switch panel

So the spade connectors get connected to the wires, and then inserted into the connector?

Great idea. A little extra investment and the time to do it right, will make it much easier to work on in the future.

Did you tape them on or glue them on? Is that just black printing on white paper?

Exactly. A few of my switches have a ton of wires since they are 3 position & 2 pole. So you just pull the connector block off the back of the switch when you need to remove them.
