From what I've been told, and it makes sense, the 16 oz. is designed for the same pressure as the bigger bottles. Unless you've got some ungodly pressure pump doing the transfer, you'll be fine. I would be a little concerned about refilling one too many times as there really are designed for a single use.
I do remember, way back in the olden times, that there were some of the little bottles that were designed for refilling and they had a relief valve built in. They haven't been around in decades, or so I'm told.
