Same. ^
Really nice execution on the interior. And what a platform to start with. So cool.
I have to say though the LED bar looks outa place. JMO.
Super cool resto and even cooler that you’re getting out in it.

Thanks and I completely agree. Light bar will be replaced with a custom rack with old skool Cibies. I plan on doing that when I do some custom bumpers but still trying to find someone who will do the work for me. Interior and mechanical upgrades have been taking priority.

Vintage Cibies will be right at home on that classic.

Hey Vandiesel thanks for the nudge!

So, its been a long road on this build. The interior wrapped up nicely but things started to unravel when I moved on to the engine/transmission swap. I went through several shops that screwed me over on work and money. It took me almost 2 years to get the van to the point where it is now reliable and capable for some adventuring. I was in a low period for a while which is why I stopped updating this thread. I did try to keep my blog going so you can read more about the updates there:

Interior Is Complete

Mechanical Upgrades include:
  • Blueprint 302 V8
  • AOD transmission
  • Rebuilt Dana Spicer 20
  • Disc brakes all around with Hydraboost
  • 30 gallon fuel tank with EFI
  • Headers and exhaust
  • All new cooling
  • All new electrical
Overland Prep: Yes I finally got rid of that light bar and replaced it with a vintage Warn bumper complete with winch and KC lights

I've taken it on a few weekend adventures but no major overland yet. I'm relocating for the next several months and delivering the van to a friend who will take the driveline and suspension to the next level. The van is not geared or sprung for off-road so that is my next focus.

Enjoy!

What a sweet rig. So nice to see something different.
Between the pop top canvas and the interior you absolutely nailed the color scheme. Super nice! Enjoy.

Thank You! That would be the SEMA favorite in the overland section. I love your van!

My favorite van by a long shot. We chatted at AdventureVanExpo last year when it had a bad oil leak. Glad you got everything sorted out and are now out using it!
