5 minutes left!
Only 5 minutes left. If I was closer I would bid...
1997 SPORTSMOBILE EB30
97 FORD E250 CLASS B CAMPER VAN RV MOBILE HOME SPORTSMOBILE EB30 MOTORHOME CLEAN
ONE OWNER RV - CLEAN TITLE - LOW MILES - NO RESERVE !!!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/97-FORD-E250...torefresh=true
Was sitting at $4,060 with seconds to go and then sold for $6,600.00 - not as good a deal as it looked like seconds before the close, but still not bad.

Re: 5 minutes left!
Even at $6600, I think that was a pretty good deal.

Re: 5 minutes left!
Being sold again by the same seller....Whats up with that..No reserve! Is the seller paying the ebay fee to get the van off Escam?

Possible, but more likely the buyer backed out for one reason or another. Bids in the Motors category on e-Bay are non-binding.

Re: 5 minutes left!
Thanks for the link, I did not know about the non binding policy....It seams to be a bit of a joke. If you don't get what you want on a on reserve auction just have a friend put in a high bid and get out of the sale. Do you know how long this has been place?

Don't know how long non-binding bids in Motors have been the case, but it's been a while. If you check the bid list on that van, the "winning" bidder has over 100 feedback, so it's a bit unlikely it was a shill bid, but you never can tell. Like I said, buyer probably backed out, or didn't follow through with down payment, etc. For all we know, one party or the other may have used eBay dispute resolution to cancel the sale. Not sure without researching how that works in Motors given the non-binding bid policy, but in other categories, it could happen and only the seller and high bidder would know (and eBay, of course). eBay has gotten progressively less transparent for third parties over the years. You used to be able to see what was happening, much less so now.

Re: 5 minutes left!
So I won this auction.. Seller was super sketchy and apparently not very bright...
My guy called the seller last week to figure out where to fly into (from Tampa). Seller said Newburgh NY, as one of his three shops is there. So my guy pays an extra $100 for the ticket there, flies in last night, and gets a motel. This morning he meets the seller and his guy, who drove the van up from Brooklyn last night, and stayed at a motel across the street. So it cost me and the seller extra money to do the deal in Newburgh (1.5 hours north of NY) as opposed to Brooklyn. For no apparent reason. Oh well.
But my guy now has possession, and van is more or less as advertised. It's headed west now.
I'm trying to get a buddy of mine and his GF to buy it, if not, I'm going to clean it up, fix some things, repair the dent and clean up the paint, and sell it out here.

Re: 5 minutes left!
Nice score Rob! You should have no trouble. I like the layout but wish it had four beds. If it did I might detour your guy south and make you a nice offer. A friend of mine is looking hard for a fixed top EB but needs to sleep 4.
Is it a 5.4? Ad says 8-cylinders and being a 97 I would think not a 460 and most likely a 1st year v10.
