Re: Ford van tune up
The Fram ToughGuard has some of the best filtering properties, next to Purolator Pure-one. But the TG doesn't cause as much pressure drop as the Pure-One
The Fram TG is the only filter I use now. Most filters don't list their specs. The rest that do are overpriced in comparison, except the Pure-one.
I have over 270,000 miles, and the engine still runs like new. And, I plan on 7500 mile oil changes (Ford revised spec for the V10) but the usually ends up being closer to 10,000 miles.
BTW - I use to use Quaker State synthetic or motorcraft , but for the last 80,000 os so been Penzoil Platinum because it has the highest Moly content. For me that value is important, because I'll sometimes tow 14,000 pounds in 120 degree weather, pulling steep grades. I want that extra moly protection in case the oil thins out because its to hot.
