Jump starting an E350 diesel

Hi, all,

I notice both my batteries are enclosed under the van. How to deal with the unlikely event of needing a jump? Do people install accessible posts to facilitate?

Thanks for any suggestions/solutions.

Mike

Read your owner's manual. You will discover there is a +12V post located next to the batteries for just that purpose.

It is insulated with a red cap to prevent surprises.

ought to mention.....

I've had dead batteries on the van, and on a dually truck. In both cases, a regular vehicle will not jump start a diesel.

Van - I plugged in to shore power, at that time the house and van bat's were connected - under power from my house, the van started.

the truck - a few years back - the tow company had a heck of a time - their truck and a separate generator charging one battery each.
