Reviving this thread to add some relevant information.

I had the rear drive shifter detach on my Atlas twin stick transfer case. I was going to rebuild but the bushings in the parts spec shown above in this thread have been discontinued. There are two options: You can drill it out the bores and use a larger bushing that Advance Adapters does carry or instead do a retrofit with a heim joint. The upgrade kit is $70 but will have less play and shifter rattle which was an issue in the past. The upgrade kit here: https://www.advanceadapters.com/atla...int-kit-3-8-34

My transfer case has been making that noise since new back in 2004. Rubber band fixed it.

Every couple years the rubber band dries up and breaks, and I replace it.

Well, if or when one of the arms becomes detached, you'll know what your options are.
