Transfer case shifting

I would like to know what SMB uses for shifting the transfer case. A description or pics of the underside would be great! Do they use a pre-fabricated kit (Advance Adapter) or is it something custom inhouse? I'm not sure if they use cables, rod linkages, etc. I'm looking at a DIY project and trying to figure out a floor shifting solution for a Chevy NP241 transfer case.

Thanks!

Re: Transfer case shifting

A description of what SMB uses and a video to show it.

Re: Transfer case shifting

FYI, Advanced Adapters does also offer a cable shifter for the Atlas transfer case.

Re: Transfer case shifting

There is nothing special under the van, it's just standard linkage for an Atlas T-Case- meaning rods. You should watch some old Monster Garage episodes- Jesse James comes up with some crazy linkages in some of the episodes.

If your DIYing I'd go cable and you can put the shifter anywhere:

Re: Transfer case shifting

Thanks! I had never seen an Atlas in action before so that video was perfect. I knew there was a cable add-on but wasn't sure how the SMB vans were specifically set up.

Thanks for the link to the shifter kit. I had looked at that along with a couple other during this process.
