Diy pdr?
Anyone on here have any success with DIY'ing some PDR? I picked up a front nose swap from a wrecking yard, and being that it was covered with snow at the time, didn't notice that it was in fact dimpled up with hail. I see lots of kits on amazon, all with mixed reviews, so just curious if anyone else has tried it before I order a few of them.

I've tried the type of puller pictured a few times. These can work pulling wide collapsed areas, but are less effective pulling sharp impact dents. And one caution - on one occurrence, this type of puller pulled the paint off! Of course, this was a disaster and the worst possible outcome. So if you try one be very careful not to pull too hard.
Can you get to the back (inside) of these dents? If so, that will be the best way to go - pushing them is always better than pulling them.

Only some I can get to from the backside, unless I take a drill to the hood supports anyway (which, in reality, probably not a big deal).
It'd be getting a coat of paint or a wrap anyway, so not super worried if it pulled off paint. That's a hell of a suction cup if it was able to do that!
Overall if I need to junk it, not a big deal based on what I paid for it along with the other pieces, just hoping I can salvage it. Yeah, I could bondo them all, but I would be nervous about anything that deep popping off with time.

If its just a hood and its going to get painted anyway I would junk it. DIY PDR kind of falls into the "if you have to ask, you probably shouldn't be doing it" category.
Straight and rust free 08+ hoods are never that hard to find and your time is worth something.

Sure, but one could say the same thing of doing your own gear set up, welding, body work, etc. Sometimes it's fun just to learn, and the hood provided a free opportunity to tinker.

So that’s a metal, not a fiberglass, hood?

Correct, steel. Only fiberglass ones I know of are from Weldtec?
