How to treat aged plastic for Raptor paint?

Hey guys

I want to Raptor line my wiper cowl while painting the van.
But the plastic is fairly aged.

Can I use regular Raptor Adhesion Promoter or would you use something else?

I was thinking to flame it, similar as shown in this video:

(German website, but „picture only“ is fine)

Just need to check whether or not the cowl plastic is a thermoplastic.

I’ve used the adhesion promoter on plastic with great success. The plastic bumper overrides, running boards, bushwacker flares were all done in this method, and all had aged really badly being left out in TX sun for 12+ years. Clean really really well, then follow instructions on promoter and Raptor liner.

Thanks for the input.
I think I‘ll try priming first. Beside the cowls it‘s also the header panel I want to spray. So primer is $18 vs new $200 plus primer.

And I will spray the (non aged) mirrors as well and need the primer either way.

Will report how it goes!
