Shop to work on Starcool system?
I'm curious if anyone has had any luck getting a shop to work on an older Starcool system, the kind that's tied in with the dash A/C.
I have one in my 1990 that works great both with the engine running and on shore power, except that it leaks all the refrigerant out over the course of a few months. I haven't been able to find the leak myself. I called a local mechanic and they told me they wouldn't work on it and I'd have to take it to an RV mechanic. But an RV mechanic is only going to be used to self-contained rooftop A/C units, and probably won't want to work on the mostly stock dash A/C. So I'm sort of stuck. Are custom automotive A/C shops a thing?
