Simplified Tranny cooler?

Heya all.
I just read a few posts regarding transmission coolers for the 7.3 vans.
A lot of information so much so that it is convoluted contradictory and frankly a pain in the ass to read..lol

There's talk about 11 tow coolers, 13 row coolers , 6.0 coolers towing package coolers,, tru cool coolers.
Then a lot of mismatching information about hose fittings , diameters barbs ,fabrication necessary and AN fittings..a d then more confusion about it being too cool and thermostats and not the right fin design...SEE WHAT I MEAN

ANYWAYS... I was always under the impression that I could swap in a 6.0 tranny cooler and that it was essentially a bolt on with minor fabbing brackets.a d be done with it..but I guess not.

I haven't found any info regarding a straightforward " correct" adaptation.

So is there a basic simple proven transmission cooler that works that pretty much bolts up ? I don't mind fabricating brackets or cutting sheet metal that's no problem.

If so can you (line item what you did, where you got it and how you installed it ) .

Thanks in advance for any " clear"helpful advice..it's appreciated

Thanks

I went with a Tru cool, it works, I had it installed at a shop so I can’t speak to what’s involved, but I would assume it’s pretty straightforward once you have it in your hands, there’s only a few fittings and brackets you might have to modify to mount. Some have gone with the 6.0 version, you might have to read through those threads to get a better sense of what’s involved. There’s options, but I do think there’s more involved getting the 6.0 one to fit

The big issue to overcome when you're working through a resolve is the part of the equation that will/would address any 'load' on the drivetrain (steep grades, slow 4x4 crawls, etc) which addresses your goal (which i'm sure is controlling temps),
The Derale 15870 Hyper-cool trans cooler is one of the best mod's I've done to my Van (just behind Hydroboost for the brake system). It addresses 'cooling' when the van is going slow, which obviously results in very little air flow through the front of the van to help maintain temps:
